“Arctic Shadows”

The team at Mountain Studios is just now (Sept 2009) finishing up the sound track for this feature-length documentary that brings to light the Arctic journeys of Dr. R.M. Anderson, a scientist who greatly enhanced our knowledge of Canadian Arctic mammalogy in the early 1900s.

This film will be screened at the International Polar Year Film Festival in Ottawa in September 2009.

Tech specs: This high definition film was shot on a Canon XH A1 at 1080i 30fps and edited using Apple's Final Cut software.

“Searching for the Sikhs of Tod Inlet”

An award-winning documentary produced and filmed by Mountain Studios. Searching for the Sikhs of Tod Inlet brings to life a fascinating story of the East Indian workers of the lost community of Tod Inlet, British Columbia, in the early 1900s. This film tells of the discovery of the remains of an old worker’s village, the long search for information from community elders, records and archives, and the eventual contact with descendants of the Sikh workers.

This film was screened and won an award at the Spinning Wheel Film Festival in Toronto in November 2007 and will be broadcast on OMNI TV sometime in early 2008.
